this is no ordinary Samson NJS. Most parts are Campagnolo, and NJS certified.
NJS is the Japanese association for Keirin racing. More on that, go to google.
Long story short, NJS-certified parts are made for keirin racers, and slightly hard to find, and costs slightly lot more.
NJS-certified parts are Sugino, Suzue, Shimano, Hatta, etc, all Japanese companies. Campagnolo is an italian company, which obviously why they got the stamp? Because Campagnolo is one of the best (if not the best already) bike parts company. Italian, first made by hand, pure quality control and design, and not to mention winners on their behalf. As Sheldon Brown said,” The leading Italian maker of bicycle parts. The company’s founder, Tullio Campagnolo, invented the quick release. The company was instrumental in the development of the derailer. Campagnolo parts are so highly-regarded that Campagnolo’s proprietary dimensions have, in several cases, become adopted as de facto international standards”.
Now, they (if I’m not mistaken) aren’t making the NJS-certified parts anymore, because of the tight regulation. So the price will go crazy, and they will disappear soon enough.
For example, njs-keirin still have the c-record NJS cranks for 798 bucks. Used stuff don’t get that kind of price.
For that bike above? He got Campy NJS seatposts, Campy NJS Crank + Chainrings, Pedals, Clips. Fuck, he even got Cinelli NJS Stem and pista bars! Great stuff, young man!
